We're well staffed with two doctors who have an extensive background combined with real-life experience. Dr. Michaux decided to become a chiropractor due to him suffering from pain and illness since birth. In an effort to help him, his mother brought him to a chiropractor when he was in seventh grade. At this point, he knew he wanted to help others just like he was helped. He graduated from Life University in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to earning his doctorate in chiropractic, he earned an associate's degree in psychology. He continued his education to enhance his scope of practice.
Dr. Stromberg assists Dr. Michaux at the chiro practice. He graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Florida in 2008. He holds a special place in his heart for chiropractics and has extensive training in the field. He has more than nine years of experience serving the community.
We conduct holistic treatments on patients to reduce pain and promote healing and overall wellness. The focus of our practice–and of chiropractic care in general–revolves around supporting a person's health and improving a patient's condition without the use of surgery or medications. This means our patients don't experience the side effects of placing a foreign substance into their bodies, nor do they have to worry about downtime after a procedure.
The most common chiropractic treatment we perform is spinal alignments, which corrects misalignment of the spine that can cause back or neck pain, headaches or even numbness and tingling throughout the body. A spinal alignment also referred to as a spinal adjustment, consists of our chiropractic expert using his hands to realign the spine. This particular treatment is used on patients who have sciatica, lower back pain, whiplash, damage to the nerves or disc in the back or migraines. It relieves pain and nerve compression that can cause a variety of symptoms. A spinal alignment also helps blood flow throughout the body in order to encourage healing.
Spinal decompression is another treatment our family care practice uses frequently. It helps to relieve pain and nerve-related symptoms that arise as a result of a compressed nerve. It's most commonly used on people who have sciatica or a bulging or herniated disc. It also helps relieve back pain from other reasons as well. Nonsurgical spinal decompression uses motorized traction that takes the pressure off of the nerves and discs in the spine. It gently stretches the patient's spinal column. From this procedure, herniated or bulging discs may retract, which reduces pain and discomfort. Additionally, it promotes healing since it takes pressure off the nerves and tissue. Moreover, spinal decompression therapy allows oxygen, nutrients, and water to flow throughout the back. These substances are necessary for the healing process.
